FLESH MECHANIC
SKULjammer is kind of a throwback to more experimental songs from Seas of Infinity, but where Seas of Infinity aimed for more of a dark tone, SKULjammer is what classifies as Mega Drive's uplifting song, mostly thanks to the addition of those arcade sound effects and a playful lead melody. And as usual with Mega Drive, it only gets more epic as the song goes on.
Like an early-’90s arcade cabinet come to life, Mega Drive’s "SKULjammer" hits listeners with steely retro effects and dense percussive blasts for one of the most immediate and exciting tracks off the artist’s upcoming 199XAD album. "SKULjammer" continues to reveal Mega Drive’s dedication to retro-futuristic world building, as the artist carves out detailed and atmospheric audioscapes filled with darkly lit cybernetic cities. "SKULjammer" represents the grim, dystopian world imagined in action movies and video games of the past, and it’s the perfect song for cyberpunk and dark synthwave fans.

OMG! This whole album is awesome but I absolutely love the beat in Banshee. This is one of those songs where my neighbors 4 houses over have to listen when it is playing. sf88888
Across an insanely fun, dopamine rush of a record, Phoenix and Powernerd unearth the subtleties within synthwave's neon-lit spectacle. Bandcamp Album of the Day Apr 22, 2020
